As Vice President, Maria Gevorgyan will focus on four strategic priorities drawn directly from her experience as a player, coach, administrator, and researcher:
- Olympiad-Inspired European Team Championship — a team format philosophy analogous to the Chess Olympiad, fostering national identity and broader federation engagement.
- Development Programme Accessibility — a structured ECU framework ensuring players at all levels, not only elite competitors, have meaningful access to European chess.
- Youth & Women's Chess — targeted support for women's and junior chess infrastructure across ECU member federations.
- Education-Sport Integration — positioning chess as a recognised educational tool in European school curricula.
